What's your name for the Renaissance Sculpture?
The generous owners of the Gainesville Renaissance on the downtown Gainesville Square, Kay and Doug Ivester, are looking to the community through WDUN to name their iconic sculpture recently installed.
From the Ivester's:
"I envisioned the Gainesville Renaissance building as 7 separate buildings, constructed between 1915 and 1925 and built it accordingly. I believe we achieved the look that I wanted. However, I decided that we needed a modern sculpture in front of the building to signal a modern, contemporary attitude for the Gainesville Renaissance Building. So, call it an “attitude piece”. The attitude of the building and the building being separate." Doug Ivester, Owner Gainesville Renaissance
One name will be chosen by WDUN staff and the Ivester's and announced Monday, June 26 on WDUN's Mornings on Maine Street. Individuals and companies may enter! Get creative and enter for your chance to win:
